an HTML5 guide 'book' to the internet from Google

via 20thingsilearned.com

I love this. It's a book. It's HTML5 and it's just one of those lovely cool things you find out your friends made while you thought they were doing proper work...

One teeny complaint is that while it is clearly a WONDERFUL 'thing' in concept and execution I'm not quite sure who it's for...
especially as it's illustrated for 6 year olds and written for 16 year old geeks ... imho... But generally I love the initiative . So... very nice! Well done! Brill.

e.g. as a sample sentence ;)

"But the dynamic web as we know it today truly came to life when XHR (XMLHttpRequest) was introduced into JavaScript, and first used in web applications like Microsoft Outlook for the Web, Gmail and Google Maps. XHR enabled individual parts of a web page — a game, a map, a video, a little survey — to be altered without needing to reload the entire page"

OK then...

[UPDATE: This is basically dead - but in the garbage they did post it to the dev forums. https://developers.googleblog.com/2011/06/now-open-source-20-things-i-learned.html]
