Mark Noad updated Harry Beck's Tube map and it all kicked off.
I rather like it. In fact I love it. As a cyclist it makes COMPLETE sense to me. But then my mental map of London is actually based on real distance rather than abstractions and Matt Somerville's awesome live tube map mashup is up and running again these days: http://traintimes.org.uk/map/tube/
